Sil and Diane Davis would like to thank all who attended a Night of World Champion Salsa Dancing Friday, April 13 at the Chelsea Ballroom. It was a great evening and we appreciated the attendance to give the World Champions a huge Portland audience and welcome. Events like this are only successful with the dedication and efforts of so many. We would like to give special thanks to Zulmara and Abel for giving so much of their time for the TV shoot VERY early Friday morning on KGW, two smashing performances Friday night, and a great day of workshops on Saturday. Robert Basteri, you are the man and we could not have done this event without your endless promotional efforts and your work to get Zulmara and Abel here in Portland. A huge thank you to DJ Armando and the lovely Ms. Leslie for getting up at 3am to work the TV shoot from 5-7am Friday, and for all of their hard work at the event. A special shout out to Gustavo “El General” for his golden voice and his smooth delivery at the dance. Thanks also Gustavo for your additional help at the workshops when I needed it most. To George Caceres for supporting us with promoting, ticket sales, the biggest beginner salsa lesson yet, and to Sabor Latino for a great performance! To all of our friends, Rico Bravo Dancers and fellow dancers in Rumba Caliente, you are the greatest and thank you again for all of your hard work prior to and at the event to make it a success.
